Providing opportunities in science, technology, engineering, math, & medicine for underrepresented students
Our Story
Clear Direction Mentoring exists to address our nation’s need to diversify science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) education programs and workforces. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows provide long-term mentorship to underrepresented minority students in STEMM from their sophomore year in high school to their first-ever paid STEMM internships. We partner with New York University (NYU), University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus, local businesses, and STEMM grants to break down barriers and empower our Fellows from historically marginalized and excluded backgrounds to achieve their dreams in STEMM.

“At my school, there are not many people of color in the STEMM field, and on top of that, you don’t have the resources and opportunities. Clear Direction Mentoring has given me the network opportunity that I’m so grateful for.”
“I found the mentors really helpful, especially during my college process. I got a lot of mentors to review my personal statement, help me edit my supplemental essays, and really plan out my college list.”
